An evaluation of two combinations of femtosecond and excimer lasers for femtosecond flap creation and excimer laser vision correction showed that both combinations provided comparable clinical outcomes. Safety and predictability results for refractive outcomes were slightly better with one combination (VisuMax and MEL 80, both Carl Zeiss Meditec), however, said Jon Dishler, MD, in a presentation at the annual meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
