- What kind of stories can I submit?
As a rule of thumb, we only accept stories that orginate as blog posts. On occasion we approve some stories or resources that we deem appropriate. If you feel strongly about having a non-blogged story approved, please do feel free to contact us to let us your reasoning.
- What is the difference between OpenID or
Signed up user?
OpenID eliminates the need for multiple usernames across different websites. Supporting the OpenID login, means that you do not need to create yet another account if you have one with Yahoo, AOL, Wordpress, Blogger, myOpenID or any other OpenId supporting websites. If you do not have any OpenID account, you can get one free from here. There is no difference in the service we provide to OpenID as opposed to signed up users, we treat both the same.
- What is a Pimp?
Pimp refers to the "goodness" of a story. It shows how the PimpThisBlog.com community likes the story and clicked over the Pimp it link to show their acceptance.
- What is user score? How does it calculate?
User score indicates the contribution of a PimpThisBlog.com member. Almost any action your perform on PimpThisBlog.com has an associated score. The table below is a detailed list of the points you earn for a specific action:

If user score falls down in minus figure, the account will be automatically disabled. - What is TopMovers & TopLeaders?
TopMovers are those users who earned the highest score in last 24 hours. TopLeaders are all time highest scorers.
- How does stories get published? Why my story
never get published?
Stories are published based upon an aggregate of votes a.k.a. Pimps, comments, freshness, views, user score (who voted it), source of story etc. The highest the aggregate of the afore mentioned attributes the highest chance the story will be published on the home page. Once the stories are published they will appear in the top 15 list in the front page. The story publishing process runs 4/5 times daily and based on the level of submissions in the upcoming story queue.
- I am a blogger, how can I put the Pimp
it counter in my blog's post?
The easiest way to get the counter code snippet is from your submitted story detail page. Once on that page, click the show counter code link, copy the html snippet and put it in your blog post.
If you are an advanced HTML designer, you can simply modify your blog templates so that a counter is automatically generate with each of your posts. Here is the snippet of code you can copy/past into your templace. Depending on your blog plaftform, you will have to replace the "YOUR_POST_ABSOLUTE_URL" token with one that your blogging plaform uses to dynamically generate your posts' absolute URL:
